WASHINGTON, D.C. - Eight executives of vendor companies for cable industry Information Technology (IT) services have been chosen by a selection committee of cable Chief Information Officers (CIOs) as finalists in the third annual CIO.IT | Competition, a program of solution-based presentations scheduled for the CIO.IT program at The Cable Show 2012 in Boston.

The eight finalists will participate in two panel sessions during the seventh annual CIO.IT program on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, and present their solutions to some of cable’s greatest IT challenges before panels of CIO judges.  The judges will select their favorite solution concept from each panel after observing the presentations.

The Cable Show 2012, the 61st Annual Convention and International Exposition of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), takes place May 21-23, 2012, at the Boston Convention and Exhibit Center (BCEC) in Boston.

The finalist presentations, selected from a group of more than three dozen applications received earlier this year, focus on two major areas of interest to cable industry companies in 2012:  cloud-based technology to enhance cable operations, and data analytics.

The CIO.IT | Competition 2012 sessions will be introduced and moderated by Seth Arenstein, senior staff writer, government relations, for Time Warner Cable.  All sessions in the CIO.IT program will be staged in Room 156C East at BCEC.

Below is the rundown on the two competition panels, with four finalists each:
